Metallized Ceramic Tube
By metallizing the designated area of the Ceramic tube, the purpose of connecting the ceramic tube to the metal is achieved. After high-temperature solidification, the metal film can adhere tightly to Ceramic parts, and then the resulting metallized ceramic can be directly brazed with Kovar alloy or stainless steel parts.
In order to increase the wettability during the brazing process, the metallization layer is usually further covered with additional metal plating, mainly including nickel plating, gold plating, etc.
Currently on the market, Alumina ceramic metallized tubes are one of the most widely used technical components. It has the characteristics of high bonding strength, excellent electrical insulation and mechanical strength. Sometimes, metallized Ceramic Tubes require high precision dimensions for assembly purposes. With our well-equipped in-house CNC machining shop and skilled machining technology, we are able to manufacture metallized ceramic tubes in high precision dimensions as per our customers' specifications.

What is the process flow of the metallized ceramic tube
The production of metallized ceramic tubes generally consists of two parts, namely the production of ceramic tubes and the processing of metal layers.
Are there any quality requirements for the ceramic tube before metallization
The basic requirements for ceramic tubes before metallization are: vacuum tightness, good dimensional and geometric tolerances. In terms of appearance, the surface of the ceramic tube must be free of cracks, bubbles, holes, loose surfaces, impurities and adhering particles. Surface defects such as pits, chips, surface scars and other defects should comply with customer requirements.
What metallization method do you use
Our company supports a variety of ceramic metallization methods, among which the Mo-Mn method is the most commonly used. The Mo-Mn method is based on the refractory metal powder Mo, then adds a small amount of low-melting point Mn to the metallization formula, adds a binder to coat the Al2O3 ceramic surface, and then sinters to form a metallization layer. Then we prepare a Ni layer on the surface of the Mo-Mn layer. The main function of the Ni layer is to isolate the Mo-Mn layer and the solder to prevent the solder from eroding the metallization layer and affecting the sealing strength and air tightness.
